ALL THE FACTS ABOUT AIMA MAT EXAM: THE MOST WIDELY TAKEN MBA ENTRANCE EXAM IN INDIA
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). MAT Exam is a standardised test which has been started in the year 1988. The scores of MAT Exam facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admissions to MBA and PGDM programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003 for the admission process in B-Schools and the score of MAT can be considered as an admission input. In other words, MAT score provides the VISA to study MBA or PGDM in over 600 B-Schools across India.
MAT Exam is conducted in three Mode. The offline mode is Paper Based Test (or PBT). The online mode is Computer Based Test (or CBT).
For the PBT and CBT mode, a candidate needs to go to the exam center to give the exam. The center for MAT is alloted based on the preference of the candidate and the availability of seats in a particular centre.
And the newly introduced third mode is remote proctored (Internet Based Test or IBT) modes. This mode has been introduced from the MAY 2020 MAT Exam to ensure safety of the candidate due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In case of IBT mode, the candidate can give the exam from his home either from desktop or laptop connected to Internet with reasonable data speed.
Candidates can choose to appear in the exam in any mode as per their preference. Fees, exam pattern and syllabus for all the three modes of exam are same but exam dates are different.
MAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
• The candidate should have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university
• The candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CA, CS or ICWA are also eligible to apply for MAT exam
• Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply
